If you would like to volunteer to Northwest museum to help in the following departments:
Working in the Museum
Helping in the Workshops
Tour (Teaching visitors on the computers)
We would advise and encourage all volunteers to help in all areas of the museum. However, if you prefer to stay in one area, that is entirely up to you. This all about learning in many fields and something you can add onto your CV. We don't want any of our volunteers to use their own money, we will pay for all out of pocket expenses. There will be rewards and recognition for all our volunteers.
This year was hoping to open on 1st August, but unfortunately the Spinners Mills was closed temporarily due to fire regulations. The Mills had to find the funding to create a new fire exit and other fire regulations had to be setup within the Mills. So unfortunately, we have had to postpone our opening to a later date. The Mills now have the funds and contractors to begin the work and hopefully we should be back in, early next year to get our Museum/Workshop. So the new date of opening will be at Easter.
Work within the museum, creating exhibitions, managing exhibits, talking to visitors, working on the information desk, on the reception and so on.
Working with students, adults, and children in teaching electronics, programming/coding/applications. Also creating apps within the Virtual Reality world.
We will have clubs visiting our venue, we need people to work with outside clubs who wants to use our museum/workshops. Managing diaries and helping to setup.
If you are interested in any voluntary work within Northwest Computer Museum. All expenses incurred will be paid and refreshments are available. Anybody wanting to work with us will have to have a latest CRB check, if you do not have one, we will sort it out for you.
